Think for a moment:
Is there is anything that is of paramount importance to you, that you haven’t yet experienced, accomplished, or acquired in your lifetime?
If so, is there something, anything holding you back?
When you get right down to it – past the excuses, reasons, concerns, and considerations – chances are, you are holding yourself back.
Which begs the question: “So, who are you really?” The answer already lies within you. And that answer is the key to you ultimately fulfilling on whatever is most important to you, whether in your personal or work life.
If you’re willing to delve into who you really are, you are primed to change and transform your current life circumstances. And what you are about to learn may be both startling and inspiring.
Jill Bolte Taylor, a Harvard-trained neuroanatomist, dedicated her entire professional life to unraveling the mysteries of the human brain. At the age of 37, a blood vessel exploded in the left side of her own brain.
This potential “show-stopper” presented her the opportunity to study her brain from the inside out. Through the mind of a curious scientist, Dr. Taylor observed her mental function rapidly deteriorate to the extent that she could not walk, talk, read, write, or recall simple facts.
While it took Dr. Taylor eight years to fully recover, this experience provided her a “stroke of insight” into who we really are. She has shared her unique experience on The Oprah Show and collected her insights in her book, My Stroke of Insight: A Brain Scientist’s Personal Journey
In one of her moving and inspired presentations, Dr. Taylor declares that:
We are the life force power of the Universe, with manual dexterity and two cognitive minds. And, we have the power to choose, moment by moment, who and how we want to be in the world.
If there’s anything left, holding you back from being all you can be, from doing what most calls to you, from having whatever brings you the greatest joy in life, I encourage you to spend the next 20 minutes taking in Jill’s moving and inspiring presentation; take a look at her presentation on YouTube: A Stroke of Insight
And then, use the insights you gain to freely and fully express who you really are through your work and in all manner of your life. This is ultimate expression and experience of freedom.
